Home > Introduction

The Calibration Lab of NCS Testing Technology Co., Ltd. is made up of several functional parts involed in calibrations of mechanical equpment, chemical analysis instruments, heat treatment furnaces, etc.. The lab is also involved in activities of preparation and revision of metrological verification regulations and calibration specifications, implementation of metrological laws, metrological supervision and development of applied measuring instruments.

The predecessor of the lab was a metering station of the Central Iron & Steel Research Institute, established with the approval of the Ministry of Metallurgy in 1979. It passed the inspection by the State Metrological Bureau, and was named as a ministerial metering station (“Metal Material Metering Station of the Ministry of Metallurgy”) in 1989, and awarded the legal status for value transfer in the metallurgic industry and related industries in 1991 after passing the metrological authorization by the Technical Supervision Bureau. In 1971, the Institute participated in the team for “Verification Regulations for Impact Testers” organized by the National Institute of Metrology for the drafting of China’s first “Verification Regulations for Impact Testers”. The Institute also chaired or participated in the preparation of a number of national verification regulations or standards, such as “Verification Regulation for Extensometers”, “Calibration Specifications for the Evaluation of Computerized Data Acquisition Systems of Universal Testers”, “Verification Regulations for Electronic Universal Testers”, “Verification Regulations for Universal Tension and Compression Testers”, “Verification Regulations for High-Temperature Creep and Stress-Rupture Testers”, “Verification Regulations for Rotating Pure Bending Fatigue Testers”, “Verification Regulations for Axial Loading Fatigue Testers”, “Verification Regulations for Relaxation Testers”,“Verification Regulations for Cupping Testers”, “Calibration Specifications for Instrumented Pendulum Impact Testers”, “Pattern Evaluation Rules for Pendulum Impact Testers”, “Pattern Evaluation Rules for Cupping Testers”, “Measurement of K for Tension Testers”, “National Standard for Mechanical Testers”, “Calibration and Classification of Extensometers” and “Verification Regulations for Extensometer Calibrators”.

After more than 40 years of development, the Calibration Lab has accumulated rich professional experience, and achieved abundant fruits in the field of applied metrology. It has won 6 provincial/ministerial technological progress awards (second/third prizes) for its “Calibration and Classification of Extensometers”, “Verification Regulations for Axial Loading Fatigue Testers”, etc. It took the lead in the development and calibration of electronic extensometers, development of coaxiality meters for material testers and development of standard impact samples, and chaired the preparation of the “Calibration Specifications for the Evaluation of Computerized Data Acquisition Systems of Universal Testers”, the first for comprehensive evaluation of testers in China.

The Calibration Lab is a domestic leader for force measurement. The scope of service covers all related testing equipment, such as class 0.5 electronic extensometers, class 0.5 electronic testers, universal tension and compression testers, stress and coaxiality testers (Chinese standard, ISO standard, ASTM standard), dynamic force of fatigue testers (Chinese standard, ISO standard, ASTM standard), cupping testers, long-time creep testers, relaxation testers, impact testers (instrumented impact), drop testers, durometers, standard dynamometers and evaluation of computerized data acquisition systems of universal testers.

As a calibration lab certificated with ISO/IEC 17025 by CNAS (No.: CNAS L0272), the Calibration Lab has been meticulous and science-oriented towards work for more than 40 years. It has calibrated chemical analysis instruments, mechanical property inspection equipment, NDT equipment, physical equipment, auxiliary instruments, temperature instruments and length instruments for clients throughout the industry, and supplied a variety of self-developed instruments, such as electronic extensometers, torsional extensometers, high/low-temperature extensometers, high-accuracy extensometer calibrators, tester coaxiality measurers, BH hard alloy indenters, as well as standard samples (e.g. state-level standard impact samples (innovation patent), national-level standard tensile samples, national-level standard high-temperature tensile samples, persistent standard samples, standard sheet tensile samples (for metal strain rate control), standard V-notch Shape impact samples, and standard samples for analyzing content of austenite in steel).
